This week's Wednesday WORD!s will be led by Kat Lyon's and will highlight their UK touring and briliantly reveiwed show, Dry Season. The show will be coming to Leicester on October 14th, Upstairs at the Western. Here's some more about the workshop:
Reconnecting with the Body
Our bodies can be politicised, sexualised and medicalised, and are often a site of conflict and discontent. This workshop focuses on nurturing positivity and reconnection through creative writing and poetry. Participants will look at poetry that focuses on the body and bodily experiences, examine which techniques are used to bring those experiences to life on the page and use writing exercises and discussion to explore their own experiences and relationship to their body. There will be chances for participants to share their work with the group if they wish.
This workshop is for participants of any gender, and is suitable for total beginners up to those who read and write poetry regularly.
What will you need:·
A pen and paper·A curious mind·An open heart.
