Join George Szirtes and friends for this much anticipated - post-Po-Fest-tastic, post-pandemic first one back in Beeston WORD!...Poet, translator, biographer and former Man Booker International, Judge - George Szirtes was born in 1948 in Budapest, and came to England following the Hungarian Uprising in 1956. His many awards include: the Faber, T S Eliot and International Man Booker Translators' Prize (twice).George will be joined by WORD!s Lydia Towsey ‘funny, irreverent and rude, thanks to her mum, God bless them both’ (Mark Gwynne Jones) - and the acclaimed Panya Banjoko, author of the recently released, (Re)Framing the Archive (Burning Eye Books, 2022). Come and have a unique evening.
