Leicester Pride Special and first of the season... Janet Sutherland is the author of four books, Her poems are widely anthologised and published - from The Spectator to New Statesman - "Eloquently brutal" (The Poetry Book Society). She will be supported by Bobba Cass - "Grey poet and gay grandad' - plus a pride of comperes. Prior to the evening event, Janet will faciliate a free workshop at Attenborough Arts, from 4.30 to 6.30pm

About the acts:
Janet Sutherland is the author of four poetry collections, most recently Home Farm (Shearsman Books, 2019). A new hybrid collection, The Messenger House, about her great-great-grandfather’s travels to Serbia in the 1840’s will be published by Shearsman Books in early 2023. Her poems are widely anthologised and published in magazines such as Poetry Ireland Review, New Statesman and The Spectator. A critical essay on the poet Charles Reznikoff appeared as an afterword to two new editions of his work, Holocaust, in the UK (Five Leaves Publishing, 2009) and USA (Black Sparrow Press, 2007). She received a Hawthornden Fellowship in 2018 and lives in Lewes, East Sussex. For more information see www.janetsutherland.co.uk
Bobba Cass is a grey poet and gay grandad. He promoted Pinggg...K!, a little sister to WORD, celebrating metrosexual open mic poetry for ten years. He is author of animal fables for children in the series from Gramps with Love. Three semi-autobiographical novels, House on Thirty-Third Street, Ready or Not! and Nigeria! Nigeria! follow his early life growing up in Seattle, USA and culminating in being evacuated from Biafra in Nigeria in 1967. A series of limited edition poetry collections include four and twenty, fourteen, Leicester Skies and naked.
