Tim is our recently revealed support act for the WORD! Comedy Special, this Tuesday 15th Feb, 2022. As Leicester’s only post-punk-poet, Abi Willock talked to him about his many talents, his favourite performance and that time that he was joined onstage by Tenpole Tudor.
Abi: Do you have a favourite memory from your time as a performer?
Tim: My best memory is performing on the main comedy stage to a packed audience at Glastonbury Festival, alongside my best friend and performing partner The Great Raymondo, in 2018. Unfortunately Ray passed away last year on the 16th February, this performance on Tuesday will be a very moving experience for me. Apart from that my favourite show to perform at was with Charlie Chuck at The Irish Centre in Birmingham. What a wonderful bloke.
Abi: Of your many talents, is there one that you particularly enjoy more than the rest?
Tim: Engaging an audience via magic and comedy in the style of Tommy Cooper
Abi: What can we expect from your much anticipated act at the comedy special?
Tim: Hopefully you will find it very amusing and the magic will appear shambolic but actually be very good!
Abi: I read that you once performed with Tenpole Tudor, what was that experience like?
Tim: An amazing experience. We were playing 'Free Phil Mitchell's Mind' at The Shed in Leicester when suddenly Eddie joined us on stage, somewhat inebriated, and sang 'Swords of a Thousand Men' at the same time, and somehow it worked. Very memorable.
Tim will perform as part of WORD!s Comedy Special this Tuesday, Feb 15th, 8.30pm @ Wygston House.
