Wise Objects – with Mellow BakuNovember 25th 2020. 10.30 – 12pm
Welcome to a seriously playful session, incorporating a guided mini grounding meditation and some problem solving by inanimate objects! Follow Mellow Baku’s voice and singing bowl to help you flow into writing with ease. Find your own inner voice, and a process to gain inspiration, advice and poems from the everyday things we find around us.
Born in London to a Blues singing hippie and Trinidadian Rastafarian activist writer and actor, Mellow was moved to the Midlands as a child and raised in a religious cult age 5 –19. She escaped to study art in Leicester, and has been exploring ways of healing, finding and shedding identity and sharing through creativity ever since.
As writer and performer of songs, poetry and plays, Mellow has gigged in venues throughout UK and internationally for 15 years, including venues in Switzerland, Denmark and New York, and at London Southbank. Her work has received airplay on BBC Radio.
Mellow has over 10 years experience facilitating music and writing workshops in the community, with gender-specific and inclusive groups for creativity and wellbeing, for both ACE and NHS funded organisations including Leicester Jazz House, 2Funky Arts, BrightSparks–Arts in Mental Health and WORD!
This Brightsparks Arts online workshop programme has been funded by Arts Council England. Additional support is being provided by WORD!, Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust and University of Leicester, U.Matter.
